Work place democracy study?

wuming's picture

I'm trying to remember the title of a book I read about....it entailed a study of a machine tool company that implemented work place democracy (in a limited way) during the 1960s, as part of a program to introduce computer numerical controlled machinery. Ring any bells?

This sounds like your beat.

It feels like it ought to ring a bell with me, but it doesn't.

I remember that the summary of the book is that the machine tool company started this as an experiment to help get the shop floor on board with automation...and ended it when they realized the revolutionary implications.

Thanks tho. Just wracking my brain for this one. Maybe I even saw it here on Corrente??
