Why would anyone quote Steve Israel on the subject of electability

Clinton’s lead is evaporating, and anxious Democrats see 2008 all over again

“There’s definitely an elevated concern expressed in the cloakroom and members-only elevators, and other places, about the impact of a Sanders nomination on congressional candidates,” Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) said.

Israel, a former chairman of the Democrats’ House campaign committee, said that a Sanders nomination “increases the level of anxiety that many of our candidates have in swing districts, where a Hillary Clinton nomination erases that anxiety.”

As documented on DownWithTyranny blog, as head of the DCCC Steve Israel threw, absolutely threw, the 2010, 2012, and 2014 House elections. He threw them, NOBODY is that stupid. So why would anyone quote him on electability?

It plays into the Clinton supporter narrative that Bernie would be a disaster for for the democrats, if one defines democrat those who are currently invested with power by the party.

On WaPo's part, this is simply more shit stirring. They hate Clinton and are looking for Biden to declare.

Both sides are selling a narrative. Right or wrong, we expect that from a candidate's surrogate. When the script and the story-telling are promulgated by (formerly) respected newspapers, it's another thing entirely.

Bob Somerby at the Daily Howler has been writing some wonderful pieces on the corruption and cluelessnes that now serves as American journalism.

Is there aught we hold in common with the greedy parasite
Who would lash us into serfdom and would crush us with his might
Is there anything left to us but to organize and fight? For…
The union makes us strong

(Chorus)

It is we who plowed the prairies, build the cities where they trade
Dug the mines and build the workshops, endless miles of RR laid
Now we stand outcast and starving ‘mid the wonders we have made but
The union makes us strong

(Chorus)

They have taken untold millions that they never toiled to earn
But without our brain and muscle not a single wheel can turn
We can break their haughty power, gain our freedom when we learn that
The union makes us strong

In our hands is placed a power greater than their hoarded gold
Greater than the might of armies magnified a thousand-fold
We can bring to birth a new world from the ashes of the old for
But the union makes us strong
