Who, me? A Republican?
Increasingly desperate Republicans are looking to shed their party label. Like Senator DeWhine in Ohio:
If you wonder how attractive the Republican Party label is this year, consider that the tagline on DeWine's ad is "Independent Fighter for Ohio Families." The word independent is underlined, so you can't miss it.
Or Dana Milbank's briefly famous, though anonymous, ___________ ____________ (R-Spinelessness):
He spoke of his party affiliation as though it were a congenital defect rather than a choice. "It's an impediment. It's a hurdle I have to overcome," he said. "I've got an 'R' here, a scarlet letter."
Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of authoritarian death cultists.
Though I'm sure Bush has something cooked up for October--something to give us all a good dose of The Fear just before election day.
NOTE Lest anyone forget, Senator DeWhine doctored 911 photos in his campaign ads. Typical Republican.
