White House pulls anti-TSA petition from "We The People" website just as it is about to succeed

Lucy and the football rarely gets played so crassly!

At approximately 11:30 am EDT, the White House removed a petition about the TSA airport screening procedures from the White House "We the People" website. About 22,500 of the 25,000 signatures necessary for a response from the Administration were obtained when the White House unexpectedly cut short the time period for the petition. The site also went down for "maintenance" following an article in Wired that sought support for the campaign.

Here's where the petition should be.

NOTE Hat tip, Margaret Flowers.

I wonder if the next step wouldn't be to start a petition asking the WH to stop taking down our petitions - I wonder how long that would last ....

Then we could make up a new derivative - taking and covering bets on how long a petition lasts, and with a few PDS's (petition default swaps) or whatever we could bring down the House (and the Sen ...)

OK, you finance types, can we get a quant working on this? i understand they are getting a bit jaded working on the Street and might be open to it ... (smile)
