What's Wrong with This Picture: Non Violent Climate Activist Going to Prison

Graduate student and climate activist Tim DeChristopher threw a monkey wrench (figuratively speaking) into a Bush administration scam when he bid on parcels of government-owned land being hastily auctioned off for drilling. As it turns out, the auction itself was determined to be illegal, so DeChristopher's bidding really had no impact on anyone.
Unfortunately, a jury just found him guilty of two felonies -- misrepresenting himself and placing fake bids. He's now facing up to ten years in prison.
Too bad he doesn't work for a TBTF bank or BP ...

Damn these politcians and their bizarre sense of justice to some kind of hell. Being voted out would be a a start.
One reason Madoff's in jail and the other crooks aren't
is because Bernie screwed over rich people, but Goldman et al went after the poor. I don't know if that's true or not, but it sure makes more sense than a lot of this other stuff.
