If you have "no place to go," come here!

Well you won't have Keith to kick around anymore

Olbermann abruptly gone from MSNBC. World not expected to end, neither will Somerby's day job.

The only bad thing is the inevitable (and thick-headed) RW triumphalism we will suffer.

I understand why this site does not have much use for Olberman, but it is another case of no liberals on TV. His may have been a deeply flawed voice for liberalism, he was never a liberal, but this will just cow the remaining TV personalities even more than they are now. it is a very bad sign.

he was the one who replied to Fineman's wanting "some adults somewhere in the Democratic party to step in and stop this thing, like a referee in a fight that could go on for thirty rounds. Those are the super, super, super delegates who are going to have to decide this."

Said Olbermann: "Right. Somebody who can take her into a room and only he comes out."

Feh.
Not gonna be missed.

Makes perfect sense -- and actually, it speaks well of him that he did that when he knew the axe was going to fall.

Keith Olbermann is gone. Some deck chairs on the Titanic will have to be rearranged. Lawrence O'Donnell is no doubt grinning from ear to ear thinking there really must be an angel who looks out for knee-padded idiots.

I don't know why so many in the so-called left blogos are so certain he got the boot. It's entirely possible he wanted out.

I haven't watched him twice since the end run of the health corporations and pharma looting spree.. truly a despicable veal-fold on both his and RM's part, imo. And I don't have a strong opinion about his campaign contributions... except to note his contributing to any Blue DOg candidate means he doesn't get it or he's in it for game... not sincerely taking on so many of the problems he sounds passionate about. KO probably does more good than harm... but i think this country plays politics far too much like football fans play their armchair games. It's a fine line as to whether KO's style helps break through to them... or feeds their failed ways. (D's vs R's) never getting out of the criminal monied two party box.
