We aren't the only ones who say "fuck" a lot
In fact, it's quite a popular word! AP:
Nearly three-quarters of Americans questioned last week — 74 percent — said they encounter profanity in public frequently or occasionally, according to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll. Two-thirds said they think people swear more than they did 20 years ago. And as for, well, the gold standard of foul words, a healthy 64 percent said they use the F-word [fuck] — ranging from several times a day (8 percent) to a few times a year (15 percent).
The glossary items tell the tale, don't they? (Hover over the blue question marks above to see).
To us, the F-word is fascism--something truly unspeakable.
And fuck? Well, that's just a pleasure the poor can enjoy just as much as the rich (with proper access to contraceptive devices).
Seems like the Christianists have a problem with fucking--more precisely, with other people fucking--but not with fascism. Now that's unspeakable.
