This is messed up.

Read the post article, it's very good, amazingly enough. Framing is mushy, but most of the Ferguson reporting is rich in local color and has excellent quotes; it's possible to read through the reporting to sharpen the reporter's coverage.

In a way, the Ferguson coverage is a lot like Katrina, where reporters were so shocked at the malfeasance they got ticked off, forgot themselves, and started reporting. Doesn't happen that often, but when it does, it's powerful.
