Great find, Lambert- so glad I listened! And, reading the YT comments I learned this is called "acid jazz".

When I listened, I thought I heard strains of Miles there on the trumpet. So, via google, the trumpet guy was Bob Brockman:

~Brockman continued playing the trumpet during high school that paved way for his interest in such musical greats as Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, Freddie Hubbard, and Lee Morgan. He later studied at the University of Miami majoring in the esteemed music and engineering program.~

That set me off to find Miles on YT- I mean, I've been there before, but bookmarks are lost. This is not Miles- this is Kenny Garrett, from "Miles Davis and friends" concert in Paris. There are other YTs from the same concert, all great, I remembered I'd watched some of them before. But, this one for me is a new gem.

I haven't heard that tune in a long time, and a good one it is too. Thanks, Lambert.
