Tell Me More, Digby

Tell Me More, Digby
(sung to the tune Eleanor Rigby)

Tell me more, Digby, pick at the lies in the lurch where a nation has gone off the bean
Give us a scheme
Fate is a widow, daring your grace to resolve all the crap at the core
Powers galore

All the blogging people
Where are they coming from?
All the blogging people
What are they getting done?

Bloggers in frenzy, typing the words that determine just what is made clear
A nation in fear
There are trolls lurking, tossing their rocks in the fight through the virtual air
Not really there

All the blogging people
Where are they coming from?
All the blogging people
What are they getting done?

Bah, lay the blame on blogging people
Bah, lay the blame on blogging people

Tell me more, Digby, try as we might we devolve and start tossing ‘round blame
A bloody shame
Bloggers in frenzy, griping “it hurts” in the land of the free and the brave
Back to the caves

All the blogging people
Where are they coming from?
All the blogging people
What are they getting done?

If you're into context vis a vis my lyrics, there has been some noise of late regarding Digby of Hullabaloo, whose writing I relish and devour and contemplate. With her position as a respected progressive voice online, one earned by her talent and insight, comes additional attention, and that attention includes the good and the bad and the fill-in-the-blank. Whatever one's opinion is, I find it unlikely that Digby and other respected voices in the blogosphere (including many contributers here at Correntewire) can change Rome in a day, but many are doing a sincere and thoughtful job of keeping tabs on all the insanity.

Real change comes from each of us, one human at a time. Know the arguments, understand the game and listen to your heart. Lastly, enjoy the challenge lest it all becomes too disheartening, and relish knowing the difference between lip-service liberty and the real thing. Happy Holidays!

Consider it mentioned...

We. Are. Going. To. Die. We must restore hope in the world. We must bring forth a new way of living that can sustain the world. Or else it is not just us who will die but everyone. What have we got to lose? Go forth and Fight!—Xan

Thank you

Great lyrics, by the way. Downright Dylanesque -- or I suppose McCartneyesque. Anyway, awesome-esque.
