Tea Partier Quote of the Day: To budget, drop your country club membership

Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) may have won the contest for the worst analogy of the entire debt ceiling debate.
The tea party favorite told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Wednesday that he wanted to lower the debt ceiling because when you’re broke, you have to cut back on certain luxuries.
“Well, Andrea, the thing is, when someone is overextended and broke, they don’t continue paying for expensive automobiles; they sell the expensive automobiles and buy a cheaper one,” Broun explained. “They don’t continue paying for country club dues, they drop out of the country club.”

Need a vomit bag
What reality?
I actually heard something like this recently, IRL..
Someone mentioned a (relatively) wealthy person "who had to give up their country club membership" due to a bad real estate condition....oh the tragedy!
Apropos reactions, I asked over at Eschaton if anyone had
seen any signs of the 360 degree shitstorm on the left blogs, which had been predicted if Obama went after SocSec and Medicare.
Got some interesting reactions, as in "it's in your shitty brain" and "you're soaking in it."
Whoa! For the most part, commenters are aghast at what Obama hath wrought. But, there are some...deadenders....
Schism time again on the left?
