On The Convention

I sincerely hope everyone is on the same page as I am. Which is to say: I've been thrown out of better parties than this. Seriously, is this Event an example of "the democratic process of a republic of laws," or a great, big, dope consuming, cock-sucking extravaganza? It's hard to tell from the "progressive" blog coverage. Hint: bloggers who are there should not be dazzled by 'exclusive' party invites. They're so easy to get if you're Hip, and bragging of such reveals how lame one really is if one speaks of it. Real Players are otherwise oriented, discoursively. Figure that out, liberal bloggers, and the Powers will start taking you seriously. There Are No Heroes in the Wasteland

So, I wonder: does Olbermann also think that Russert is "the toughest questioner in the business?" I'm curious, because he invited the guy that wrote that claptrap on his show several times.

There are no truly liberal voices left on teevee, as far as I can tell. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that it's the easiest project in the world to point out that when it comes to teevee, conviction is for sale, and only fools put their hopes in the "liberal champions" found there. There are real heroes out there, how nice it would be for them to receive 1/10 the attention we foist upon political celebrities. I'm glad there is at least one "liberal voice" on teevee news. But I'm rather Marcusian about all that; I think Keith is there to be the exception that proves the rule/gives moral legitimacy to an otherwise evil process, if you take my meaning.

Oprah, Keith, Susan, that guy from that really kewl socially aware rock band I used to listen to in the 80s...it's more or less the same deal. If entertainment voices are the best minds you can come up with, and are the people your movement looks to for "leadership" and daring and insight and analysis, well... You're fucked. Read more…
