Whenever I hear our thugs in higher office say "infrastructure program," I think complicated privatization schemes, outrageous no-bid contracts, and other creative ways to sodomize the American purse.
One such example is the sewer project that has completely ruined Jefferson County, Alabama.
And now, The Exiled has uncovered the latest attempt to steal the most precious resource to all of us: water.

Apparently now they're privatizing libraries, and the head of the company involved is very up-front that the cost savings come from kicking union employees to the curb and destroying pensions. Amazing that the Gray Lady can report this as if it's no big deal.
Hey, if you're out of work, at least you can go the library!
That is, until the local government can't pay the privatizer anymore, due to crashing revenue (and the privatizer inevitably raising their rates). Read below the fold...
