(THE SCENE: A bland corporate building - it could be anywhere in any large city in America. We see, downstage right, a plain wooden door in a frame, adorned with a golden "P". Beyond it is a conference room, featureless, yet rather on the opulent side, with one golden "P" on the back wall. Four figures in shapeless hooded robes, disguised with black and white masks and voice-altering devices, are seated in the sumptuous leather chairs, in various postures of impatience. Smoking cigars, drinking from brandy snifters, and looking at their watches can only keep them quiet for so long.)

ALL PATRIARCHS: ...and give us eternal power and glory, and the ability to escape prosecution, forever and ever. Ay-men.

On International Women's Day, the anti-choice movement almost succeeded in exacting the most drastic ovarian penalty yet against women of childbearing age who dare not to carry their children to term. Yes, it was thisclose to being a crime to miscarry one's child in the great state of Utah. (The governor vetoed H.B. 12, but it passed both Houses in the State Legislature). So while I didn't exactly keep up with blogs and politics while I was gone, I confess to reading a few sites now and again, as old habits die hard and working in the rain isn't always fun. One site I've come to enjoy a great deal is Twisty's "I Blame the Patriarchy." She's as hard core as they come on feminist issues, and hard core about keeping her blog free from those who don't share her views. This may or may not be a good idea, but it surely has created one of the more rollicking places on the net for women to go and bitch about how Life Sucks for Teh Wimmin. Read below the fold...

I am virulently pro-choice. Reproductive freedom is one of the most basic and essential aspects in a free society. Of course, we don't really live in one of those. SLToday:
