The Canadian government: objectively worse
I do recall, lo, that here among us there were people who hoped that Canada would arrest George Bush or something. Well, not only did they not do that, but they've just prohibited another George from speaking in Toronto: maverick British MP George Galloway.
More specifically, Alykhan Velshi, an aide to the execrable minister Jason Kenney, quoth trollishly:
Feeling all right
Some of you know that I am an, er, critic of Israel, but I am a big fan of parts of its English media, especially the newspaper Ha'aretz, and not just on its Mideast coverage. Here's an intriguing column by Bradley Burston on the US election. He's basically written Obama off.
Take a long walk in this land of dreams and all you'll see is Obama. Obama lawn signs, Obama bumper stickers, window placards, lapel buttons, anklets. In souvenir stores, Obama t-shirts compete successfully with longtime best-sellers touting Bourbon Street and carousing alligators.

Hillary's Visit To The Xerox Machine
Here's a little video montage I put together this morning.
It speaks for itself... Enjoy!
We Have Seen the Enemy and it is US!
In a poll conducted by D3 Systems for the BBC, ABC News, ARD German TV and USA Today, more than 2,000 people were questioned in more than 450 neighbourhoods and villages across all 18 provinces of Iraq between 25 February and 5 March 2007:
69% of Iraqis think that the occupation by the US and the UK is making things worse.
77% of Iraqis think that the US occupation is having a negative effect compared to 12% who think the occupation is having a positive effect. (That’s about 7 to 1 PURPLE THUMBS DOWN by my calculations.)
A majority (51%) actually approves of attacks on coalition forces.
Wow. That is not insurgency talking. That is revolt against an armed occupying force.
