Boston, Mass. — SINGLE-PAYER ADVOCATES TO PROTEST HEALTH CARE COST HEARINGS

Advocates for single-payer health care, incensed at being excluded from a series of state hearings on health care costs, plan to hold an “informational picket” Friday to provide literature to hearing attendees. “It's just outrageous to exclude single payer,” said Benjamin Day, executive director of MassCare, a single payer advocate. “We're just going to hand out testimony.” About a quarter of the Legislature’s 200 members have signed onto a proposal to implement single-payer health care and to scrap the state’s current system, which relies on private insurers to cover millions of residents. The hearings resume Friday morning at UMass-Boston.

I would have been there. They need to communicate better through their website.

This is why I laugh, and laugh, and laugh, when people argue this POS health plan will lead to single payer. It does the opposite. Future reform efforts are to reform the new system.

is not online. they have websites, but clearly they are an afterthought. It is a pity, as they are leaving a powerful tool unused.

If there are enough protesters they should try to fill up the audience of the hearings. They don't have to cause a disturbance; their paraphernalia would make enough of an impact.
