If you have "no place to go," come here!

Steubenville football players convicted of rape

WKBN:

The judge sentenced them both to at least one year in juvenile jail and said both can be held until they're 21. Mays, who's 17, was sentenced to an additional year in jail on a charge of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, to be served after his rape sentence is completed.

Good! OH AG's statement; social media reaction.

Plenty of horror to go around here, starting from the girl's "Why wouldn't you help me?" and moving out in widening, concentric circles of destruction from the horrors of alchohol-fuelled party culture, to the privileges and impunities of being a male, the even greater privileges and immunities of being a male athlete (add exponent for male athlete football team player), and then to the FIRE-sector-driven hollowing out of Steubenville (average income of $26,516), which used to make steel, and now.... Doesn't seem to make much of anything, and so the "Big Red" football team is the only thing has going for it, at least in its own eyes. Fun fact:

Between 1980 to 2000, the [Steubenville] metro area’s population nose dived quicker than any other region in the entire country.

No doubt.
