Excellent contribution, DCBlogger -- will this be an ongoing
series? Weekly? More frequent as you're able? Set up a post and ask others to contribute?
And, of course, commenters can add what they find.
Just looking over the titles of posts, the one about Kasich privatizing stood out for me.
There really does seem to incredible coordination among the whack rightwing governors, with anti-union and cuts for public employees (of jobs, wages/salaries, and benefits) being front and center, but privatization of state programs, work, and property being an underling major thrust. And the sponsors/big donors of these governors stand to benefit big time, with the people of the state paying more in future years and decades.
Walker, WI: selling off state owned power generation plants, cooling and heating plants, in no bid auctions.
MI: takeovers of towns, cities, counties which are declared by the governor to be in emergencies; then, a private "coordinator" controller comes in and sells things off, shuts things down, and runs what's left...into the ground?
Kasich, OH: More privatization (to be read about).
FL: An OMG, can he really do those things privateer as governor.
More?
Outstanding contribution. Thanks much.
this was planned
it was quite obviously coordinated with the idea that it would commence immediately after the 2010 election. Just like there is a coordinated effort to end Medicare.
I don't know how often I will post these, but I think one of the few things I can do as a blogger is to bring attention to what is happening on the ground. Nobody reads my blog, but lambert has built a community where my posts are read.
local lefty blogs ia the perfect resource for tracking local developments.
It really is a "bust out"
Shystee called it in 2008. In fact, I think I'll sticky that post.
