Scotch independence

Independent:

Mr [Alex] Salmond [of the Scotch Scottish National Party] has made it clear he would keep the Queen in an independent Scotland, that Scotland would retain the pound and also apply to join Nato – all of which have sparked fierce opposition from left-wingers in the independence camp.

Danger! Danger!

A country that is not sovereign in its own currency is not sovereign. Does Salmon really want the City of London to turn a newly independent Scotland into the next Greece? That would certainly be an ironic outcome.

I am part Scottish, and was always told that it is 'Scottish', not Scotch! I think they may have been lowland Scots, who may have played both sides. I really do not know. However, Robert Bruce is a family name, so maybe not. I would be glad to see Scotland be an independent country.
