Say Hello

To Zoriah.

Not vouching, Ok, I’ll vouch. FDL says he needs our support. I’m happy to give it.

Astounding photos and reporting

It wasn’t until photos and video of American wounded and killed began coming back to the US from Vietnam that the general public turned in large numbers against that occupation. BushCo have kept a lid on the truth of war, the horror and the pain and the suffering, with the conspiracy of the MSM.

If it were not for the courage of people like this, we sould know nothing beyond “surge is working all will be well.”

Thanks CD for the link, I’d never have seen this otherwise.

thanks

i’ve added it to my war protest blog, which i started as part of my own version of operation mosquito. i’ve been really slacking on this project lately, mostly because it’s so depressing, but partly because i was running out of source material. they really don’t want us to see, or hear, what’s actually going on.

Flying blind...

… like so much else, we have no real information or sources we can trust. Makes things difficult.

just got an update about zoriah, gosh it's a small world

it seems he’s both award winning and in hot water with the us military in iraq, for showing too many real pics.

An award winning war photographer, Zoriah, has been removed from his embed with the Marines and is being shipped out of Iraq
for showing a bit too much reality of the war in Iraq … his blog inc. the post that got him into trouble is here: http://www.zoriah.net/blog/2008/06/anbar…
He was back in Iraq to photograph the experience of Marines to give a better picture of why there are so many suffering from PTSD.

His work is stunning - and very worth getting out there … and he grants use to blogs if properly linked so his work is an invaluable source of images for all of us.

I blogged about this here - http://firedoglake.com/2008/07/06/censor… and hope others will as well since it also provides him with some
support while he is in a rather tricky situation (last word I had was that he is still in the Green Zone - there had been concern that he was being
threatened for his photographs - while this seems to have eased, more attention might be useful) Alternet picked up Dahr Jamail’s reporting here - http://www.alternet.org/waroniraq/90480/
and Raw Story have been covering as well: http://rawstory.com/comments/51426.html

and i didn’t know any of that when i put this post up.
