Florida: Water Pistols No; Hand Pistols Yes!The Republican National
Convention (RNC) has placed a ban on water guns, but not handguns. Maybe they're expecting the Wicked Witch of the West to show up?
Gun ban at Republican National Convention in Tampa won't happen, Gov. Rick Scott refuses to sign ban
Gov. Rick Scott has refused a request to prohibit the carrying of guns in downtown Tampa during the Republican National Convention this summer.
The Nevada Republican convention: a train wreck waiting to happen?
The Nevada Republican convention that kicks into full swing today in Sparks is a key step for the Republican hoping to win the White House in November.
It also has the potential to be such a toxic display of the party’s divided factions and lack of organization that virtually none of the top elected Republicans in the state will actually set foot in the convention hall.
The Ron Paul convention takeover plot
Don't look now, but he’s racking up delegates at under-the-radar contests -- and Republicans are officially spooked
Ron Paul supporters are not interested in the platform or the VP nomination, they want to install Ron Paul as the next President . They intend to take over the RNC and nominate Paul. They don't care that Paul did not win the popular vote and the Republicans have no one but themselves to blame for the fact that the popular vote is not longer respected.
So we have a tightly disciplined minority determined to override the will of the majority. And guns.
This is not a good situation.
Riverdaughter has a great post on the debasement of American political culture.
We have a party whose followers are completely unhitched from reality and whose displays of viciousness and callousness during the Republican debates were shocking and ugly to watch. That ugliness is reflected in the politicians they have elected to Congress who think nothing of threatening to bring down the global economy if they don’t get what they want. And the Democrats have been too passive, too corrupt, too slow and too morally bankrupt to challenge them.

On Ron Paul, I keep pointing out the similarities...
... between Obama 2008 and Paul 2012. The focus on caucuses and the "install" mentality is eerily similar.
