Mike Celizic on Andy Pettitte and baseball's steroids scandal:
...he’s really got some ‘splainin’ to do, because Pettitte has always taken pride in telling one and all that he reports to a higher authority than the commissioner of baseball, one even higher than George Steinbrenner.
One of the more vocal Christians in baseball, Pettitte is big on thanking the Lord for his victories and giving all credit to God for his success. If he used steroids, then all his talk of morality reflects horribly on his fellow believers.
A Christianist
New York Yankee might be a lying, cheating hypocrite. Man, whodathunkit!?

Yeah, the Yankees suck
It makes total sense they'd confuse God with steroids. Heck, Rush confused God with Oxycontin, right?

Perhaps he confused Human Growth Hormone...
with human growth.
Andy is a good man. HGH
Andy is a good man. HGH was not even a banned substance when he took it while on the DH list. If he did take Steroids and is lying (which I doubt), then he has let us down and made fellow Christians look hypocritical. When you are in the public eye, you have a higher level of responsibility if you are a Christian, because the world is watching. However, people need to realize that even Christians (who are Christian because we believe we can never be "good" enough to earn our way to God and therefor accept Jesus's atonement for our sins) are not perfect and are still humans. We all stumble and make poor decisions from time to time in our life when under pressure and stress. Andy, like many others, may have succumbed to such pressure. Does this make hime a terrible person? I dont think any of us are without sin and we should not be so quick to cast stones assuming he is lying...when we do not know. If he used steroids, he should be punished, but ot demonized.
What a load of bollocks

burbles:
Being in the public eye means that the world is watching by definition.
Or are you implying that Christianists, by defintion, have higher standards to which they adhere than others who do not believe as they do?
