Prepare to kick the left

Because Versailles FAIL is always a reason to kick the left!

If only the insignificant numbers of single payer advocates that nobody reads anyhow had gotten on board with [a|the] [strong|robust|triggered]? public [health insurance]? [option|plan], then "real health care reform" would have been politically feasible!

Lambert, I like your post (I think) and I like Krugman's post (something that hasn't so often been true this past few months), but...

I'm not seeing what connects one to the other. Are you suggesting that Krugman was blaming the left somehow? Because I don't see it: I thought he was calling for Obama to lead from the left. (Reading into it a lot, I know, and fat chance of that happening...)

I have been feeling rather stupid these past few weeks (SAD descends) so pardon if I'm missing something obvious or even semi-obvious.

I'm going for quantity!

That said, Krugman sees the shit train coming:

What’s now in question isn’t [Obama's] ability to talk, it’s his ability to lead.

That's a FAIL. And in Versailles, any FAIL is a reason to kick the left. Nothing to do with Krugman. So I left out the connecting link...
