Plantidote of the Day 2012-08-22

Mystery Flower

Flowers that open to the ground are fairly hard to shoot and get a decent view of. This one was so pretty and I really liked the fuzzy aspect of it, and so shot it from laying on the ground and into the sun to get this image. Into the sun is always an iffy proposition but I thought this one came out nicely.

Don't know what it is though.

It could maybe , possibly be the Chinese Foxglove Rehmannia elata.

They are fuzzy flowers and similar to your photo.

Is the plant tall? These can reach 3 feet tall.

... at least three feet and clumpish. And it does look like a cousin to the regular digitalis foxgloves I'm familiar with.

Thanks!

I've tried it with morning glories but without this level of success!
