Corruption Scandal Brewing at State Department Over TransCanada Emails
Evidence is mounting of a real corruption scandal at the State Department.
Emails uncovered by Friends of the Earth reveal State Department employees in a cozy relationship with Paul Elliot, a leader on Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign turned head lobbyist for Keystone XL – offering personal favors, praise, advice, and generally cheerleading the project while it was under review. Some of the messages are just damning.
Read it and weep.

Where's the story?
It looks like everybody is doing their jobs. The lobbyist is making connections in the state department to find out what needs to be done. The state department employees are helping him out in a bureaucratic way. Where's the fire?
I'm sorry but sometimes we have an unrealistic idea about how companies should navigate the paperwork in Washington. When it comes to moving oil across international borders, presumably it helps to know people in the state department who you can ask about what needs to be done and how to do it Was there money involved? Pay for play? Blackmail? What??
It sounds perfectly bland and ordinary to me.
Unless you just don't like oil. There's nothing wrong with that or activism. But, please, can we get a scandal with a plot?
