A blog (from "web blog") is a discussion or informational site consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed newest first. All Corrente posts are front-paged; there is no up-rate or down-rate process. Corrente posts are almost entirely community moderated. We encourage a clash of ideas, and do not encourage a clash of persons.

you can use epoxy putty for any big cracks/holes. That stuff is relatively cheap and awesome for anything but totally non-porous surfaces.
LB, do you have to sand it a little before painting? I'm not sure how viscous/smooth it dries or maybe it soaks totally into the wood and then some solvant evaporates away.
Basic idea is get the putty on there as smooth as you can, and after half an hour or so, shape it. Then when it dries, two hours, you can sand.
I'd love to be using the product Ohio recommended, but I can't get to a Marine hardware store from where I am.
Gotta go.
