If you have "no place to go," come here!

Occupy CA

Indeed.

UPDATE Oddly, or not, I read about this at Yves place, and not on the career "progressive" blogs. I guess we'll see what happens on March 4.

Those were the days, my friends, we'd thought they'd never end....

Of course, then CCTV cameras weren't ubiquitous; police usually thought twice before clubbing college students (except in the South); authorities didn't think microwaving people was a good idea. Until something like what "three dead in O-hi-O."

Not every gathering of 5(? or is it a lower number?) required a parade permit.

Hey, didn't the college sit-down strikes, takeover of admin buildings, etc., start in CA? Or was it Columbia?

I remember taking over the chancellor's offices at my university; I was wearing a poncho and felt something heavy being put into one of big pockets: The guy said, hey, you can use this as a weapon. Well, it was a quite gorgeous heavy glass ashtray, and, no, I couldn't break something that lovely which could be repurposed, much less could I hurt someone or deliberately break things. Heh. My souvenir.

what a wonderful story! if you've got more, you should consider posting about it. it's good for people to hear first-person accounts of what it's like, what to expect, what people did, etc, rather than just the filtered-by-the-mcm spin.
