Obama's reelection strategery
Political strategists are advising the White House to frame the debate in terms that will appeal to independent swing voters, who are considered crucial for Obama’s reelection effort next year in battleground states such as Ohio, Virginia, Florida and Colorado.
The big fight in Ohio is the repeal of SB5, and Obama has been conspicuous by his absence on that. I am guessing that Ohio voters have noticed.
Obama froze the pay of the federal civil service, taking away a scheduled pay raise. No Democrat can win Virginia without the civil service vote, and Obama just alienated a large part of it.
Obama completely mishandled the BP disaster, that will cost him Florida, along with this mishandling of the foreclosure catastrophe.
Colorado liberals are working on Initiative 25, to raise tax levels to 1990 levels. Obama is not going anywhere near that.
Obama is making himself irrelevant to the struggles of our times. Moreover, he does not seem to get that his failure to make things better for ordinary Americans is going to cost him his presidency. Somehow he does not seem to think that voters will notice that unemployment is up, foreclosure is up, bankruptcy is up, homelessness is up, suicide is up. Incumbents, especially Presidents cannot win reelection under such conditions.
