ObamaCare Clusterfuck: NH's Shea-Porter throws Obama under the bus on healthcare.gov rollout

Concord Monitor:

nfavorable polling for Obamacare and actions taken by New Hampshire’s congressional Democrats last week to fix it underscore Democrats’ continued complicated relationship with the health care law heading into election season.

Republicans will do their best to make sure this doesn’t change anytime soon.

First District Rep. Carol Shea-Porter told President Obama in a face-to-face meeting last week that people need to resign over the flawed roll out of the health care website. And in late January, she sought clarification from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on access to health care for children who qualify for Medicaid while their parents don’t – a glitch that federal officials say was fixed last week. Shea-Porter’s team was quick to highlight both as examples that she is fighting to help New Hampshire families.

And you know what?

Shea-Porter's right. People ought to resign. Or Obama ought to fire them.

But they won't, because Democrats. The absolute, tribal refusal of Democrats to hold themselves accountable for their own -- being charitable -- mistakes is one of the reasons I'll never vote for a Democrat in my own state of Maine again; the Baldacci administration reversed years of state policy on landfills to put the biggest one in New England on the Penobscot, and through a corrupt process, too. Do we hear word one about that from Democrats? No. Any reversal of policy? No. Is Baldacci still a respected, indeed, revered figure? Yes. Same deal with the national Democrats. And perhaps most frustrating at all, Democrats still think they're the good guys!

The Devil is in the Details
Obamacare: A Deception

by PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS

The article below is the most comprehensive analysis available of “Obamacare” – the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The author, a knowledgeable person who wishes to remain anonymous, explains how Obamacare works for the insurance companies but not for you.

Obamacare was formulated on the concept of health care as a commercial commodity and was cloaked in ideological slogans such as “shared responsibility,” “no free riders” and “ownership society.” These slogans dress the insurance industry’s raid on public resources in the cloak of a “free market” health care system. . . .

What this means is that those Americans with the least or no disposable income are faced in effect with a substantial pay cut. The author provides an example of a 35 year-old with a MAGI of $27,925. The out-of- pocket cost to this person of a Silver level plan (second least expensive) is $187.33 per month.

This cost is based on pre-tax income, that is, before income is reduced by payroll and income taxes. There goes the car payment or utility bill. The lives of millions of Americans will change drastically as they struggle with a new, large expense – particularly in an era of no jobs, low-paying jobs and rising cost of living.

The author also points out that the cost of using the mandated policies will be prohibitive because of the large deductibles and co-pays. Many Americans will find themselves not only with a policy they can’t afford, but also with one they cannot afford to use.

Those who cannot afford the insurance, even with a subsidy, will be faced with a costly penalty, and in many cases, this, too, will be difficult, if not impossible, to pay. As each year’s subsidy is based on last year’s income, there will be a substantial year-end tax liability for those who must repay the subsidy in whole or part because their income increased during the year. The stress alone from such a regressive scheme is, without a doubt, not conducive to good health and well-being. . .

" ... accountable for their own -- being charitable -- mistakes ..."

If we've learned one thing as a result of political events since Clinton-Rubin-Summers-DLC-Hamilton Institute-Sandy Weill-Greenspan it's that Democrats don't make mistakes -- they act consistently with their knowledge of where their bread is buttered. And, hint, you and me don't butter their bread -- we're just citizens!

Good question. Depends who you are asking - the Sellers of Looting Products call them consumers. Then it also depends on how deluded certain citizen-purchasers are (if deluded/brain-washed = consumers; otherwise citizens!).

And the deludeds are destroyed citizens destroyed by metastatic brain washing turning them into finely-tuned and 100% responsive (to the Sellers) to sale pitch for any product designed to loot them.

Wins the internets.
Predator/Looter - Citizen relationship captured in one sentence with the correct subject/object/verb construction!

Kleptocracy/Lootocracy - a socio-economic system related to cannibalism.

Literallly true in the sense that our actual bodies, our flesh are natural resources to be exploited, exactly like coal is mined or oil is drilled for. Pharmaceuticals show this clearly. Ditto food-like products. DItto "end of life care." Name it.

Like Marx's M - C - M' -- if we unpacked the C (commodity) in the middle at some point we'd see how the commodity is transformed in the body (because, after all, what else could happen to it?) So there is a shapeshifting flow of capital through our veins and nerves all the time.

But I need a more rigorous formulation....
