NY Times asks if reporters should report the truth. Huh?
I’m looking for reader input on whether and when New York Times news reporters should challenge “facts” that are asserted by newsmakers they write about.
A Truth Vigilante? That somebody is asking this question is mind blowing to me? Should reporters ask politicians if what they say can be backed up, say, by an example that can then be checked? If they do "challenge" politicians and business types are they perceived as taking the law into their own hands aka as vigilantes?
