"Nobel Peace Prize Committee Under Investigation," per AP report-Updated
No quotes, since it's that litigious organization, AP, but...the committee is being investigated for moving away from Nobel's stated objective of honoring those who work for peace and use means other than war to achieve peace.
The investigators can revoke awards going back three years...does that mean Pres. Nobel Peace Prize Winner (Pres. NPPW) is secure in his? (Yeah, like they'd jerk that award from our war criminal jerk-in-chief....)
This Pres. NPPW is making me sick to my stomach.
Too bad we don't have an international organization which has the power to rein in rogue nations such as the United States.... Or an international criminal court which could bring our war criminals to judgement.... Or an electorate which cares enough about this to vote the criminals out of office from top to bottom....
Update: Greenwald has another post, about the official anonymous WH reaction to the report on US targeting rescuers and mourners.
Pres. NPPW has allowed one of his top intel cabinet officials to tell the NYTimes that --just like Bush/Cheney, btw-- if we're not with them (the adminisitration), we're against them.
Doesn't that make any of us opposing Obama's war criminal acts, well, supporters of Al Qaeda? And subject to Obama's Unitary Executive star chamber treatment?
From Glenn Greenwald's latest post on drones and our ongoing war crimes in using them as we do, Top Official: Drone Critics Are Al Qaeda Enablers.
A senior American counterterrorism official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, questioned the report’s findings, saying “targeting decisions are the product of intensive intelligence collection and observation.” The official added: “One must wonder why an effort that has so carefully gone after terrorists who plot to kill civilians has been subjected to so much misinformation. Let’s be under no illusions — there are a number of elements who would like nothing more than to malign these efforts and help Al Qaeda succeed.” (Emphasis in Glenn's post)
