Nice work supporting the troops with that body armor, Shooter!
But don't worry about a thing! When you get an arm or a leg blown off, you'll get taken care of at Walter Reed! Oh, wait...
Cheney called it a myth that "one can support the troops without giving them the tools and reinforcements they need to carry out their mission."
Yeah, speaking of tools, how's that body armor coming? How's the training going? Got those stop losses under control?
Of course, Cheney's statement is the rankest and most virulent authoritarianism imaginable:
In the delusional minds of the unilateral executive theorists deep in Cheney's bunker, it's up to the chief executive alone--let's reserve the word "President" for elected officials, OK?--to determine what the troops "mission" is to begin with.
Then, everybody else has to fall in line. Congress needs to sign the blank check, the voters need to go shopping and "sacrifice" by watching TV, etc.
Of course, if the mission turns out to be the greatest strategic disaster in American history, getting the troops out of harm's way is the best way to support them, and our country, too.
NOTE Can't Cheney do something about his lips? They're all twisted, and the condition keeps getting worse.
