Kind of says it all:
Rob Nabors, Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), emphasized to reporters that the spending freeze will not affect all agencies and that the White House is still committing to accomplishing its goals.
"The liberal critics will be somewhat muted when they see the details of what we are proposing," he said on a conference call with reporters. "People are all afraid that their favorite program is getting gutted."

1. "Somewhat muted" is an elegant choice of phrase, though "gagging" or "gagged" might have been good, too.
2. The notion that outrage over Obama's Raw Deal economics is panic over a pet program or two again begs the question of which film classic the administration is remaking: "Contempt" or "Clueless"?
