i am way to sensitive these days to caffeine to have a lot of it. in fact, if i have a cuppa regular, i'm actually more tired in the afternoon than if i didn't; the caffeine crash is a bitch for me. but if decaf helps, i can drink more of that. not in the summer tho, i never want a hot drink when it's hot outside.

this is funny:

"However, it's worth remembering that leading a healthy overall lifestyle is the thing that really matters when it comes to keeping your heart in top condition.

"Having a cigarette with your coffee could completely cancel any benefits, while drinking lots of tea in front of the TV for hours on end without exercising is unlikely to offer your heart much protection at all."

that's the problems with reports like these. i remember when a big study about the benefits of regular red wine drinking came out while i was a bartender. plenty of jokes there, believe me. customers saying things like "i told my wife i'd work out today, but now i'll just have another glass of wine," etc. lots of people will use any excuse not to take care of their bodies.

Since I'd be drinking it anyway, it's good to know coffee is good for me :-)

It is good to know that something I do anyway is good for me.

CD, I don't know if decafe gives you the same benefit, but it is difficult to believe that caffiene is beneficial to the heart, so I suspect that decafe gives you the same benefit.

I prefer to read the published article before taking the popular articles too seriously. Even this article says that the effects are gone with more than four cups a day. To me this suggests complex kinetics. Subsamples are also important to pay attention to as there can be geographic and racial evolutionary constraints that impact the results.

coffee intake more than 4 times. I will drink it anyway, (there is nothing, absolutely nothing that smells, and tastes, better than a fresh, hot cup of really good coffee). Not to mention, neither nurses nor candidates can survive without it! lol
