Make sure county registrar of deeds knows about this
Let's claw back MERS money from the banksters! Quoting Dave Dayen:
Jeff Thigpen, the register of deeds in Guilford County, North Carolina, a county of about 465,000 in the center of the state (the largest city is Greensboro), decided to survey all the mortgage documents submitted to his office by DocX, a notorious “mortgage mill” that processes documents on behalf of lenders, between August 2006 and April 2010…
Out of the 6,100 documents Thigpen examined, 4,500 showed signature irregularities.
So, two issues:
1. The counties are owed for all the fees that MERS should have charged. That's around $200 billion.
2. If two-thirds of mortgage documents are fraudulent, that implies that a similarly large proportion of fore-closed on mortgages could be fraudulent. This is why "produce the note!" works.
