LONDON (AFP) – Israel's military is preparing so it could launch major aerial attacks on Iranian nuclear sites if ordered to by the new government, a British newspaper said on Saturday, quoting Israeli defence and intelligence sources.
"Israel wants to know that if its forces were given the green light, they could strike at Iran in a matter of days, even hours," an unnamed senior defence official told The Times.
"They are making preparations on every level for this eventuality. The message to Iran is that the threat is not just words."
Among preparatory steps being taken are the acquisition of three Airborne Warning and Control (AWAC) aircraft and regional missions to simulate the attack, the paper said.
If there was a question of whether this was an "if" or a "when", I think the answer is more than clear, now.

British are biased
Britain today is a center for illegitimizing Israel. I wonts pay a penny for their information. The best proof is the AWAC story. Israel has offered China Israeli made AWAC airplanes several years ago; the deal was vetoed by Cheney and was never resumed. Why " acquire" and from whom AWACs?
Preparation is what a military does always and military plans do not imply action. You may remember the US military planning on staying in Iraq for 25 years, while even Bush signed on withdrawal.

That's really too bad.
I'm sorry you don't approve of the particular source. It's also a bit disappointing, though hardly surprising, to see your purposeful intellectual laziness/diversion knowing that it's been Israeli practice to pre-emptively strike nuclear sites in nearby nations, as I'm sure you've not forgotten their strikes within both Iraq and Syria. I'm also sure that you know that the British aren't the first report/leak that Israel is not just prepared for this 'eventuality', but is pursuing a number of options to delay/stop Iran's nuclear program.
The habitual denial has become quite a tiresome effort in futility, no? I'm sure you'd extend a benefit of the doubt all the way until they bomb Iran's nuclear sites. Perhaps, you'd be a bit more credible if you'd extend this extraordinary benefit-of-the-doubt marathon and nuance to other parties and issues. Just sayin'.
But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...
