In the garden: Maine monsoon

From the porch:

Impressive.

Here is a bad picture of the cukes and tomato beds, showing the deer-spooking foil strips whipping around in the wind:

It's all blurred because the iPad's cheesy camera doesn't zoom worth a damn, so you can pinch to expand, but lose resolution.

And speaking of sitting in the middle of complex organic systems:

When the sky began to darken... I pulled out my iPad to Weather Underground so that I could assess the size of the system (and how soon I should make a run for the porch). Pretty amazing, eh? If only we had the same kind of mapping for other systems: The food chain, the supply chain, finance, and so on.
