Impeachment

DCblogger's picture

The Republicans intend to impeach Obama, that is what the IRS scandal is about. The only way to stop the impeachment is for the Democrats to retake the House, But, as anyone who reads DownWithTyranny blog knows, the Democats have no intention of taking back the House. Steve Israel is throwing the election.

Obama's complacency is incomphrehensible. There is no way the Republicans can win enough senate seats to achieve the 2/3 majority necessaary for a conviction, even so, the complacency of the Versailles Democrats is incomprehensible. They should force Israel to resign and replace him with George Grayson or anyone else interested in winning the 2014 elections.

Really, you cannot help people who will not help themselves.

... but where does Howie say that? I did find this, but from 2013:

When making an excuse for reappointing Israel chairman of the DCCC, despite his dismal failure in 2012, the nicest thing Nancy Pelosi could muster to say about his abilities was that he's "reptilian." Although he claims he performed so horrifically in 2012 because his wife was divorcing him, he doesn't seem to have learned a thing and is leading the Democrats to doom again-- forcing vulnerable freshmen far to the right of their Democratic bases which is likely to lead to the Great New Dem Apocalypse of 2014 for almost identical reasons the DCCC brought on the Great Blue Dog Apocalypse of 2010.

I searched for "Steve Israel" at DWT, but didn't see anything to suggest he was "throwing" the game, as opposed to simply not caring how it turned out. I might have missed something, though, since I only looked at the first page of results.

I think the Dems are helping themselves, but at the expense of their party. They get the big campaign bucks by playing along. Stating the obvious, I suppose, but when you look at the record of non-accomplishment in DC these days, I think that not giving a crap how things turn out for everyone else is a more natural explanation for their behavior.

Don't have time now, but will dig up links that show Israel refusing to fund Democrats challenging vulnerable Republicans (esp. Paul Ryan) and showing money on horrible blue dogs running in districts where Obama could not break 30% of the vote.

Most of the liberals that I knew back during the Clinton Administration were pretty horrified by the guy's policies...but formed a solid bloc in response to Gingrich and Barr's blowjob crusade. I suspect that that is the rationale here: loathe the guy, hate the policies, but circle the wagons when the hypocrites start to scream their heads off.

Anyway, it is probably time for the ratchet/pall show to move to the right, again. The Dems have managed to normalize so much crazy the last few years that they are starting to look crazy themselves. They need more cover.

Look at this:

In many cases, the DCCC and the NRCC are telling donors to not contribute to the local candidates are paint those races as "a waste of time" and "hopeless," although these are virtually the only winnable seats that the 2 Beltway committees aren't involved with. The 16 italicized named represent NRCC malfeasance. All the rest (18) represent DCCC malfeasance.

IOW, if I were a stone conservative, I'd be screaming just as hard at the NRCC as we are t the DCCC and for much the same reason.

DCB, thoughts?????
