A blog (from "web blog") is a discussion or informational site consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed newest first. All Corrente posts are front-paged; there is no up-rate or down-rate process. Corrente posts are almost entirely community moderated. We encourage a clash of ideas, and do not encourage a clash of persons.

It does make you wonder where all of these folks were during the primary. I never got why people thought it was smart to give the guy the keys to the car, and then ask him not to steal it. I don't know why anyone would have ever trusted Obama to do the right thing given his incredible newness to the national scene. He'd built no trust with the nation, as a whole, at least not enough trust to simply hand him the keys to the car and expect him to do the right thing.
It just blew my mind that folks gave themselves away to someone they didn't really know anything about. It'd have been quite different if people actually bothered to test him and still voted for him, but all of this after-the-fact buyers remorse is sickening, to me.
The very second the OFB told Obama that there was nothing he could do to lose their votes, is the very second Obama had absolutely no incentive to...change. His people freed him from obligation to do the right thing. You can't unring that bell, guys.
There is going to be a large enough chorus come November to sing "I Told You So", that it will be heard round the world three times over. And, it didn't have to be this way.
