isn't just that they are scary, but that time seeems to slows down to a crawl, and there is no escape (because the fear and weirdness is all in your mind.)

So I can't imagine an encounter with one Huckabee supporter really being like a bad acid trip.... now, trying to participate in online discussions in forum that were sane six months ago, but are now filled with cult-like believers in The Magical Unity Pony --- that is like a bad acid trip.

(oh, and according to the Times, Obama is refusing more debates -- which suggests to me that his people told him that the reason he didn't do as well as expected, despite 'his best debate performance ever' last week, was that Hillary did much better as far as voters were concerned. I think Obama's attacks on Hillary on AUMF may have backfired, because the American people supported the inspections process at that time.)
