HRC: Let's debate on the back of a flatbed truck!

Davidson's picture

(h/t: MABlue at the Confluence) FOX "News" video (audio not great):

Obama told reporters this week that he’s ruled out another debate before the next round of primaries, moderators or no moderators — saying “Rather than being in a studio, I want to make sure that we’re reaching out to folks where they live.”

Senator Clinton’s response? “We could even do it on the back of a flatbed truck, doesn’t even have to be in some fancy studio somewhere,” she told the cheering crowd at an outdoor rally in the shadows of the USS North Carolina.

Thank-you, Lambert.

Since Obama's lack of maleness is now a favorite Maureen Dowd meme, and we do mean me,me, please can we not use any form of it. I would think this would be felt as a sacred obligation of all Hillary supporters; no one has told more lies about Hillary Clinton than Maureen Dowd.

But you're right, Leah. I think my string of boxing metaphors (Obama back-pedalling, Hillary pummeling) does the same thing in a way less propagative of Republican memes....

Leah's right.

Ok watched the video and heard the flat bed truck, and now I know the reason why obama won't debate is because he's only comfortable in convertible fully furnished buses, so if Hill would let him know she'll debate him in his bus (seatbelt on) then heh...

Transcripts for Sunday are not available until 1 and will use a database to retrieve so that I do not have to pay for the transcript.

I had just switched on the radio and was on my way to Border's and heard the message, regarding the debate in Indiana (could have been NC) and Obama's (memo, team, release, something) stated that (from memory) that Obama had given Clinton a chance to debate earlier and that debate was turned down by Senator Clinton, we do not have any time for debates as we are trying to reach more of the voters by (going to houses something )
Keeping in mind I was screaming at the radio at the top of my lungs LIAR LIAR LIAR and had to turn the radio off and take deep breaths.

I just looked for the transcript. It was 91.7 in Michigan, I looked on Michigan Public Radio and on NPR (have to purchse those transcripts). But IT was said. I would love to have the complete radio broadcast including announcements.

I listen to NPR (am not sure if the NPR I listen to is affiliated and I should think of it as MPR instead but I normally don't really think about it) and 88.7 but generally only NPR, If it was Friday it was about 7 to 7:30 pm, if it was Saturday it was about 2-4? I was on my way to borders both times to visit some people I know. Next time I will make a note of the date, time, and try to get the broadcast after it.

... but I must admit I couldn't resist turning "slippage" into "shrinkage" on another thread.

We may be shrill, we may say "fuck," but we can and should do better than playing the emasculation game with schoolyard taunts.

In the spirit of watching out for "what's bad for the blog," I just gave the "spam" (hiding) treatment to the comments on this theme.

If this comment offends any of the fellows, feel free to bury it as well.

but I sort of believe her when she says she's having fun. And why wouldn't she be? After spending so much of the campaign on the defensive and having so many organizational problems, not only does she have Obama on the defensive, but it seems like her campaign is finally turning into the well-oiled machine we were promised a year ago. Plus, I've seen that Sopranos send up she and Bill did, she's not that good an actress.

And while I think Obama is a political coward, that doesn't make him unmanly. It has nothing to do with gender. Plenty of men are political cowards.

When this race started I would never in a million years have thought Hillary Clinton would end up looking like the more politically brave democrat going into the home stretch. While I've supported her for awhile, I didn't kid myself about her centrist tendencies. If she somehow ends up being the nominee, this primary has been a good thing for her. She's a much better candidate - in progressive terms, personal appeal, and political organization - than she was at the beginning. She's grown during the campaign while Obama has appeared to shrink. Which I wouldn't have necessarily expected going in.
