The Haves and Haves Nots - a gentle reminder by our courts
In case you missed putting these two things together, I was struck by the following.
As we learned in January, the wealthy and powerful feeding the needs of the politicians, they rent the services of, with lots of money is free speech. And they shouldn't be inconvenienced in any way in their pursuit of political influence.
While a couple of weeks ago we learned that feeding the homeless isn't. (And it isn't freedom of assembly either. Or protected in any way by the Bill of Rights...)
And not too surprising, you'll find lots of bipartisan consensus about that by our elected officials.
