Gulf oil: still spilled
I saw this on the BBC. Unfortunately, they don't allow embedding of videos (which isn't even theirs, but that's another whole gripe). So click the link to see what the ocean floor looks like in the spill area.
They should have shown what a healthy ocean floor looks like, just for comparison. It's rather smooth, with the occasional dimple where a tubeworm is living. You'll see crustaceans ambling about, and bryozoans, deepwater corals, and other critters every few feet.
With that in mind, go look at Dr. Samantha Joye's video. That ocean floor now looks like what it is: the world's biggest sludge dump.
