Given the Rusty treatment: Banned from FDL
Primary tabs
Cross-posted from progressive-independence.org.
Earlier today I posted a diary at FDL in what was a continuation of an argument on morality in politics. A few minutes ago I responded to a comment in another thread only to find that the comment in question was hidden pending moderator approval, a sure sign that I've been banned. And just as was done to Rusty1776, my entire account has been designated as spam and my entries hidden from view.
That this happened is not even remotely surprising. The right-wing gatekeepers who run FDL do not like talk of morality in politics, as it has the effect of exposing them for the amoral, power-driven shills for the corporate-owned Democrat Party they truly are. What else can you expect from a blog run by ex-Daily Kos goons? The difference between the two web sites is that at least Kos lets you know up front that his is a site of, by, and for only Democrats and that anti-Democrat discussion — as well as challenges to the party and its hacks — will not be tolerated.
Lest you think I'm angry about this, I'm not. What the trolls assume is that there is nowhere else to go. They're deluding themselves if they think this. Just check out the column of links to the left of this entry for proof. I'm just letting you know what happened in case anyone has any questions about why I was removed from FDL, and that in light of their being exposed as a right-wing blog that silences dissent from the party line, I've taken the liberty of removing the link I had in the left-hand column. If you want to read stuff from FireDogLake, I'm happy to invite people to cross-post from there. I simply do not feel that the site is worthy of being promoted on a blog that is of, by, and for the left.
[UPDATE A suitable welcome to Obama's rump Ds. Go torture somebody or steal an election, why donchya? --lambert]

Somebody should ask Hamsher if members can get banned
If not, maybe we could take up a collection heh heh heh
Turn arounds
At the beginning, I did so admire FDL and Jane Hampshire. I so wanted to take down HolyJoe. And Jane Hampshire was doing a good job of that, it seemed.
Then came Holy Obama, the One against Whom nothing must be said.
Then came Not-Medicare-for-all.
Then came Not-Single-Payer
-Then came Not-Public-Option
Then came deleting those who don't tow the party line, exactly, precisely
Then came me deleting the FDL bookmark on my browser. Sadly. With regret. But, in my view, if you are authoritarian, you are NOT left.
Bye Bye Jane.
What was the post?
Have you cross-posted that here?
I was going to post it here, but I didn't think they'd ban me th
Alas, I didn't think to replicate it on my own blog, and so it is lost. If the editors decide to let my posts become visible again, I'll do what I can to recreate it. But it's a continuation of my previous two entries, which ARE posted here.
oh for pity's sake
This Fdl storm trooper mod shit is getting ridiculous. What is going on over there? I am so disappointed . I am glad to find this new home.
There seem to be rather a lot of FDLers in exile over here...
... and they've certainly elevated the tone ;-)
I tried posting on Antemedius after several months...
...Only to get a message saying my entries had been flagged as spam and had to be approved by a moderator. Something stinks, and this time it's not Michelle Malkin's pants after a guest-host stint on the O'Lielly factor.
So what's the gist of what you posted?
Surely you remember what you write.
It was basically a continuation...
...of my morality and politics series. I'll probably write it anew tomorrow after I get home from school.
And it seems Antemedius' spam filters are still being tweaked. I'm able to post normally now.
Just an anecdotal, casual assessment of FDL recently
struck me rather strongly as being very "quiet" and without a lot of engagement by commentators. Actual numbers of comments, and the quality of them, are decreasing precipitously, IMO. The RW "trolls", however, seem to be having a great time, and in effect, stimulate most of the "lively" discussion. OTOH, Kos's place seems to have a large, and ever-growing number of people willing to discuss dumping Obama, and has had a large number of posts discussing the disappointment in, and general perfidy of, the D party. (An interesting comment made by someone at FDL on lets' post on Rusty-can't grab the exact line, maybe lets saw it?-referred to the fact that he was a new "member", and was now wondering if his $$ was wisely spent :-) )
