Friday night alternate-reality musing: what if the Internets didn't catch on?
How would today's world be different if there were no World Wide Web or other broadly adopted uses for the Internet (i.e., what if the online world were exactly the way it was in, say, 1988)?
What historical events would have been different?
What politicians would have fared better or worse?
What scandals would have been more or less galvanizing?
How would entertainment be different (obviously no YouTube and a lamer iTunes, but what would have filled that void -- would pop culture and media have stood still?)?
Just musings inspired by the PowerPoint thread....
