If you have "no place to go," come here!

"Foolish"

Heh.

Oh, come on, Paul. Say it.

You know you want to.

NOTE I first "discovered" Atrios during the Trent Lott takedown (which, alas, proved all too temporary) when Krugman mentioned him in his column. His print column, because at that point the Times still had the pay wall....

And IIRC, lambert and a gang of five took over for a brief time, after which corrente was born.

I started reading Krugman back then too. Sanity. Heh.

Oh, and I'll say it for him. Fucking. Fuck. Fucked. Fuckity. Fuckers.

That was a great time; it's when I became a hit slut.

The number I remember is 40,000 hits a day: about 10% of Atrios today.

And when he left for his undisclosed location, Atrios said that we shouldn't worry if the numbers fell, since it was the summer. But we managed to raise them every month....

We. Are. Going. To. Die. We must restore hope in the world. We must bring forth a new way of living that can sustain the world. Or else it is not just us who will die but everyone. What have we got to lose? Go forth and Fight!—Xan

Why I can recall reading Matt Welch and Rageboy, long before Atrios blogged. By the time the Trent Lott implosion occurred, Atrios was well known, but that's when the MSM really started recognizing that the political blogosphere was bigger than Glenn Reynolds.

But 40K hits a day? Geeze, I've even channelled Robert Johnson trying to strike a deal with the devil, but watched AS slide from thousands/day to 425/day last summer.

That's what happens when the talent fairy shuns a card-carrying lifelong liberal. I think I must have picked a bad decade to quit psychedelics, crack, glue, brandy, sex, gainful employment, optimism, weed and FD&C Red food dye.

That I can say 'fucking' while Krugman can't and can complete more sentences in a day than Bush will in his lifetime remains small consolation.

Wait. Did I say weed? I'll prepare a retraction. Got any papers?
