*Obligatory Sarah Palin Disclaimer: I did not want the women to be elected VP. She was horridly unqualified(like our current Pres), and proposed truly odious policies. That stance however does not mean I will tolerate blatant sexist trashing of her.

Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it a secret—nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant. She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him. That way, she said, Bristol and I didn’t have to worry about anything.

So sayeth Levi Johnston, Sarah Palin's erstwhile future son-in-law. This above anecdote, related by Johnston in this month's Vanity Fair, may or may not be true*.

But that's not really the point.

Why is one of this nation's premier magazines, running this story? It's the journalistic equivalent of the stupid guy I wouldn't date in high school, running around telling everyone what a horrible lay I was. He told those stories to draw negative attention to me, and so is Johnston. He is not a credible witness. Almost every girl in America can relate a similiar story of a girl's reputation being trashed by an angry vengeful teenager. Which is why this behavior should stay in high school, where it belongs.

Johnston has made it clear that his attention seeking has a purpose, as related by Ruth Marcus.

"I could go out and do movies, maybe one day even end up as a celebrity," Johnston muses. If you watch the "behind-the-scenes" video of Johnston on the Vanity Fair website, you can see him sitting in the back of a limousine discussing an offer to pose for Playgirl magazine. "I’d do it," Johnston says."

He is a fame seeking attention whore, and Vanity Fair just gave him a national platform to continue the vengeful trashing his ex-girlfriends family(who is also the family of his infant son as well).

I mean really, what other politician's daughter's "baby's daddy" has recieved such glowing media treatment?

*As I said, this story may or not be true. I always suspected that the instant engagement after the pregnancy announcement was staged. But you know what. That really doesn't matter. It's no worse than what other male politicians have done to protect their family(Really, many male politicians have done much worse, like this.)
