"I am a black South African, and if I were to change the names, a description of what is happening in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank could describe events in South Africa."
~Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Global Exchange has tons of info on what we can do, and a list of US Companies that operate there.
Money talks -- loudly. If we can't affect our government funding them, we can stop our own funding of it.

Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions
Back to the dark ages
So in boycotting, I guess you will get rid of your computer, your cellphone, your plasma tv, and a bunch of life-saving medicines.
Back in the real world, however, Israel's relationship with the Palestinians has no similarity to South Africa. If you actually look at the facts, and not the emotion, you would realize that.
Arabs in Israel have more rights than Arabs in any other country in the Arab world.
what's dark ages is world's largest ghetto--Israel--
because we're all connected -- especially economically -- it's not those of us outside the ghetto that are going backwards but the opposite.
We left the ghettos years ago, and will not support Israel as a self-created one.
The Paradox of Israel: Regional Super Power and the Largest Jewish Ghetto Ever Created
Boycotts
Wait, Israel is a ghetto? I though Gaza was the ghetto? So confusing all these ghettos.
I assume you also want to boycott or divest from Russia for Chechnya, China for Tibet, Spain for the Basques, the UK for Northern Ireland, Australia for the Aborigines, Sri Lanka for the Tamils, Turkey for the Kurds, etc.
No...why not? Why Israel and not the others? Far more people have been killed in each of those conflicts where a minority wants a homeland. Yet your concern is only with Israel. Any good reason for that?
Oldy but ...
Wow, I hadn't heard that one in a very long time. Though when I heard it, many decades ago, it was - Blacks (though that was not the word they used) had it a lot better in the south than in Africa. I think that was supposed to mean something. And, come to think of it that was pretty much what a White South African I met in London in the seventies told me about Black South Africans. I suppose some sentiments are just too good to go out of style.
Pot. Kettle. Black.
Your mirror awaits.
Empty, that was exactly how it was meant.
I really didn't expect to hear it, either. I'm almost speechless. That is exactly how that was meant, and only bigots utter these old chestnuts. He's not here to make thoughtful posts, and that's really all that we need to know.
Now Nudnik
The computer, cellphone, plasma tv, and bunch of life-saving medicines are really just commodities we can outsource to China or, heaven forbid, manufacture right here at home. Now what Israel has that is really the shit, I mean second to none, topshelf -- psychotherapist and software. I'll take an Israeli shrink and an encryption package to go!
Make vs. create
Sure you can make that stuff in other places, but it was invented in Israel. Do you want more new inventions, or just the same stuff we have now?
Because
Because Israel is the only nation in the world that invents things, right? You ever heard of contriving false choices? lol I'd hope you'd be smart enough to not to want to get into a petty pissing match about inventions. If you still do, well, you can do it alone and one someone elses time, because I'm not going to entertain such ridiculousness.
