If you have "no place to go," come here!

Denver Meetup. Friday, July 30th

Next Friday in there (or don't be there!).

If you're new to Corrente or have finally realized that there could be no more perfect way to spend next Friday night than with a group of like-minded Correntians, please join us.

There are incredible topics to discuss (see the Reading List [on the top right of the home page under "Correntian Meetups"] and a recent post by Tony Wikrent for topic backgrounds) and we promise to make the evening entirely enjoyable, too.

There is a lunch planned on Thursday beginning at noon for a couple of fellow travelers who can't make Friday night. We'll be at Houstons, 303 Josephine Street, Denver, CO 80206 (303 333-4688).

And the main event is Friday night beginning at 5 PM at The Washington Park Grille, 1096 South Gaylord Street, Denver, CO 80109 (303 777-0707). We have reserved the West Patio for the group so that we can have plenty of time to talk and enjoy the company of friends.

And if you'd like a few minutes with an old favorite, here it is....

("Friends around the campfire....")

Join us!! We'd love to meet as many of you as possible. Remember: there is strength in numbers!

Pictures and disussion notes will follow in a week.

Tell us more. What would we in Denver have to do?

... so I defer to people interacting in RL.

My thought was that chat, a la tribune under Post other content, could be used to live blog and also post questions, but in a more interactive way than posting and comments.

Then again, I can see how this might detract from interaction face to face. So, just a suggestion, quite possibly a bad one.

I think that's the main point behind this thing, right? These aren't lectures focused on one or two topics exclusively so a "live blog" would probably steal a lot of time from the discussion. In RL, I notice that discussions can be all over the place rather than focused on one topic. this does not fit well with a live blog.

If a few of the Denver crew is willing to get together again next week via the "internets" at an agreed to time and place. This would give everyone a chance to digest what is discussed, pick out important points to individuals and then "chat" about it with anyone who might be interested.

I don't know if this could/would/should work - just an idea to keep the conversation going.
