Pravda. Here's the key paragraph:
The associate attorney general in charge of negotiations, Thomas J. Perrelli, also oversaw talks that led to the recent $26 billion foreclosure abuse settlement with major banks. Perrelli, a law school acquaintance of President Obama, is leaving the department March 9 after three years as its No. 3 official.
Alrighty then.
The system's not broken. It's fixed!

spill impact
At this point, in part because of BP and government PR, I think most people are unaware of the extent of the impact of the spill on aquatic life in the Gulf and Mississippi Delta.
The shrimp catch this past year was down about an order of magnitude.
I work on copepods in the Mississippi Delta (copeods are microcrustaceans at the base of the aquatic food web; they're the most abundant animals on earth and constitute most of the marine animal biomass). When I sampled in the delta this past year, at my sampling sites, copepod numbers were reduced by about two orders of magnitude (~100 fold).
That is not good.
I guess we all know how this
I guess we all know how this one is going to end...
